Escaping the Buffet Mentality

Cater Care’s RISE Healthy Eating program has been established with fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workers in mind. The new initiative, which has been developed by Cater Care’s experienced food and dietetics team, is designed to educate and promote healthy lifestyle choices to better support  FIFO workers.

The program was recently launched at our Jacinth Ambrosia site, which is located in remote South Australia. The onsite chef, Stuart Brinkworth, is well regarded at site for ‘putting on a delicious spread’ and he didn’t disappoint for the first meal which was a “provincial style chicken with roasted garlic.”

The dish is one of over fifty recipes created by our food team as part of the RISE Healthy Eating program.

On the evening of the launch, over 110 workers enjoyed their evening meal in the dining room, with over  30% of residents opting for the healthy choice dish of the night. Our dietitian and a member from our marketing team were in the dining room during the launch and received plenty of positive feedback about the dish and the program.

“I love it! I love healthy choices, I always go for the steamed veggies so it’s really good to know we have some healthy main options too.”

“The program’s a good idea, and the information is a good reminder to eat healthy.”

The launch at Jacinth Ambrosia marked the third successful launch of the program, which is currently being rolled out across our remote sites.
