Executive Director (Cater Care Group)
With a master’s degree in accounting and finance and as a Fellow of the Australian Society of CPAs, SK’s qualifications and experience ensure development of the company’s growth strategies, corporate structure, internal control, system development, capital structure and administrative efficiency.
SK joined Fisher Catering Services in 1991 as Financial Controller, guiding its substantial business growth and subsequent merger of the group with an international firm.
In 1999, he identified a gap in the contract catering industry and established Cater Care Australia Pty Ltd in partnership with the current owners.
SK has also held an executive position in an international pharmaceuticals company, controlling the financial interest of the company’s operations for the Asia Pacific region. He is currently Director of a range of other companies that have substantial investment in shopping centres, commercial properties and residential property development in Australia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and southern China.
Director: Colin Redman
Chief Executive Officer (Cater Care Group)
Before his recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Colin held key positions within Cater Care including National Operations Manager, Qld State Manager and NSW State Manager.
Colin commenced his career as a chef working in restaurants and international hotels throughout the country. In 1990 he joined the contract catering industry, taking on operational positions in business and industry, residential schools, universities, colleges, and retirement and aged care.
In addition to overall operational management of the contracts, his responsibilities involved organising functions and events across a range of industry sectors including catering management for international events such as Indy Car on the Gold Coast.
In 1997 he was appointed General Manager/Director of Independent Foods, responsible for overall management of a large food production kitchen with clients including Qantas, Ansett and NSW State Rail.
Director: Mark Fortugno
Chief Financial Officer (Cater Care Group)
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and an experienced CPA, Mark oversees the Group’s key contractual negotiations, corporate governance, and the continued growth, efficiency and profitability of the organisation.
Before joining Cater Care, Mark worked in a range of finance and taxation positions within Australia, including with KPMG and global construction and engineering firm SNC-Lavalin.
Since his appointment in 2009, Mark’s commercial contribution has been pivotal to the achievement of a company turnover increase from $50M to $180M, and a workforce from 350 to 1,500 in the short span of four years. He drives significant cost savings via a competitive approach to management control and negotiations with suppliers.
Fluent in several languages, Mark is at ease conducting business in English, French and Italian.
Director: Denis Andre
Chief Operating Officer (Cater Care Services)
A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Denis is a highly skilled catering professional, having held the position of CEO in numerous companies since 1989.
Denis graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education, Switzerland. Glion is ranked among the top three hospitality management schools in the world.
Before joining Cater Care, Denis held senior management positions in companies across the world including United Arab Emirates, Iran, Qatar, Yemen, Angola, Turkey, mainland China, Hong Kong and Mongolia.
Through his experience and operational planning skills, Denis ensures that quality food, consumables, security and facility management services are delivered to onshore and offshore oil, gas and mine locations.
Fluent in several languages, Denis is at ease in conducting business in English, French, German, Portuguese and Chinese.
Director: Neil East
Chief Operating Officer (Cater Care Australia)
Neil joined Cater Care in 2010 and has been a key figure in the performance and success of the organisation’s Urban division and his recent promotion as Chief Operation Officer is reflective of what he’s achieved during this time.
With over 30 years’ experience in the contract services sector Neil has had a long and successful career within the hospitality industry throughout Australia.
Having held positions from site manager through to senior Manager, Neil possesses a strong understanding of business operations including: development, design, operation and improvement of systems and he’s well positioned to lead the business through its next phase of growth.
Director: Melanie Shortt
Marketing and Business Development
A proven sales and marketing executive, Melanie has worked across a range of industries and with some of Australia’s most recognisable brands such as APN, News Limited, Suncorp and the Hilton group of hotels. She has overseen business critical initiatives, led large teams through major projects and driven positive cultural transformation.
Prior to her recent promotion as Director, Mel led Cater Care’s marketing team. In her new and expanded role, she works closely with the operations and business development teams to drive customer acquisition, retention and growth.
Mel takes a meticulous approach to planning, developing and delivering integrated activities that achieve organisational objectives. Her passion is collaborating to uncover solutions, support innovation, and drive results – whether that be through sales and marketing channels, or people.
Melanie is a passionate and highly organised executive with strong experience across both sales and marketing disciplines and is well placed to drive Cater Care’s strategic plan.
