We support our people in the pursuit of success. Success for safety, health and the environment (SHE) means completing a day without injury, maintaining 100% capacity to work and contributing positively to the environment.
To achieve this we have a different approach to SHE, underpinned by our safety culture program ‘Keeping it Fresh’. Through facilitated workshops our people understand and engage with a culture that is adaptive, innovative, learning-oriented and just.
To motivate our people we use positive language. We don’t talk about injury management, rehabilitation, return to work or work restrictions. Instead we focus on capacity to work and treat each person on a case by case basis.
We adapt to local conditions on every site. We develop customised Site SHE Management Plans that comply with client, government and our own requirements. We also recognise the need for flexibility in day to day tasks, so we embrace the concept of adaptive safety.
We undertake a number of activities to determine whether our sites are set up for success. All our service delivery evaluations include SHE assessments. And we invest in continual improvement, encourage innovative thinking and are open minded to make our systems better.
Our SHE management system is certified to AS/NZS 4801 and ISO 14001.
