One of Australia’s leading contract catering and facility management organisations has embarked on a significant transformation with the finalisation of an important acquisition.
Cater Care, a 100 per cent Australian owned and operated company, has finalised the acquisition of Spotless Group’s (ASX: SPO) airport concession business, which will see Cater Care become one of the largest airport concession operators in Australia.
The acquisition is made up of 31 retail locations within six airports across New South Wales and Queensland.
Cater Care Chief Executive Officer Colin Redman said that the acquisition of the airport retail business was part of Cater Care’s growth strategy and a natural extension based on its core business and operational strengths.
“Cater Care is synonymous with fresh, quality food, and we pride ourselves on providing the best hospitality and service to our customers,” Mr Redman said.
“We’re passionate about what we do and we know what’s important to customers, which is how we believe we’ll add real value to our new clients as part of the acquisition and why we’re excited by the opportunities these new retail outlets will provide to our organisation.”
Mr Redman was recently promoted from his position as Chief Operating Officer of the successful Urban division. He succeeds S.K. Tam, one of the founding directors of the organisation, who has moved into the role of Executive Director.
Mr Redman, who had been earmarked for the role as part of the organisation’s succession planning, has praised Mr Tam’s leadership and said he was excited by the opportunity to lead the business he joined more than 15 years ago.
“The organisation has experienced unparalleled stewardship under S.K’s leadership and it’s set to continue as we maintain strong growth within our core segments of aged care and retirement, education, health, remote services, and extend into airport concessions,” Mr Redman said.
